With cheap-as-chips homeware available all over the internet, following interiors trends isn't just something that rich people can do anymore. Nope, you too, with your teeny tiny flat and extortionate rent, are now just as welcome as anyone else to make your home look Pinterest-worthy.
But which interiors trends are getting everyone excited at the moment? Well, the interiors gurus at Pinterest have done some research and had a little look at what people are searching for more and more on their site in accordance with the first Best of Pinterest Interior Awards.
Read on to find out what's replaced millennial pink and to see whether the greenery trend will ever, ever give it up...

Shaping Up
Geometric shapes in the form of variously proportioned triangles have been big news for a couple of years now. Recently, though, the interiors crowd has decided it's all about hexagons (searches for "hexagon" have gone up 93%) and herringbone (62%) and we're seeing hundreds upon hundreds of circles everywhere.
This table lamp from Oliver Bonas then is a good way to get some different shapes in your life. Plus, how cute is it?
'70s Everything
Think Laurel Canyon in the very early '70s: Joni Mitchell, peacock chairs, shag rugs and vinyl players.
Keep an eye out for a peacock chair of your own on Gumtree because, since they've made a comeback, they're not cheap (£600 and up for something made of wicker? Nah).
Head to Urban Outfitters for a whole number of awesome-looking record players.
The Outdoors Indoors
If your flat has lots of natural light then go full greenery with houseplants hanging from every conceivable nook and cranny. Beware, though – interior plants on this level require dedicated upkeep.
If you don't have much natural light, or you just can't be arsed to potter around with your watering can on a daily basis, think instead about greenery interiors: a green couch, green tiles, green artwork. Much less effort.
Ethical Living
Whether out of a desire to live a more eco-friendly life, or due to the fact that they're cash-strapped, more and more Pinterest users are searching for "DIY furniture" – because upcycling, or creating something new out of something old, is a much more sustainable way to live.
Plywood kitchens are also on the up – plywood is inexpensive and can theoretically be more sustainable than other woods.

Arty Storage
Curating your home so everything – even your storage – looks good sounds wildly impractical, tbh. Nevertheless, "clothing rails" have enjoyed a surge in searches, suggesting people are seeking to display their clothes rather than stuff 'em in a wardrobe.
Which is fine if you've got, like, three shirts and they're all black and white but otherwise, don't bother yourself. It's another thing to feel bad about when it inevitably gets messy.
Etsy (obvs) has a huge range of very cool clothing rails. Check out INDUSTRIDesign.
Big, Bold Colours
Begone pastels and muted marbles! Interior colour now is all about bright and bold reds, greens, blues and blacks. People are getting the look with statement walls, yes, but mainly from printed wallpaper (if you're living in a rented place, check out our guide to the best removable (yes, removable) wallpapers).
People are also getting their colour fix from bright kitchen splashbacks.
Navy bedrooms are apparently trending, too – searches for them are up 182%.
Stripped-Back Living
Blame Marie Kondo and hygge for this unachievable trend of minimalism and pared-back living. More and more people are searching for no-fuss kitchen decoration (but where's the collection of tea-stained, mismatched mugs?) and concrete bathrooms (where are the 17 half-used bottles of shampoo?) are trending but, while they do look nice, practical they aren't.
If you must, though, Goodhood is very good for beyond nicely designed toiletries to feature in your new minimalist shower. Yes, they're expensive, but you asked for this life, not us.
Wall Stickers
Perhaps something to do with the growing rental market and a wish not to eff up your walls, wall stickers are, like removable wallpaper, easy-on and easy-off.
They're especially big news when it comes to decorating kids' rooms with a huge number of cute animal prints, and other kid-themed decals available to purchase.
Check out Quote My Wall on Etsy for a HUGE selection for kids and grown-ups alike.
